I wrote last week about the toy poodle I received in such a horrible state. I took him to the second vet visit today to get the results of all the tests and bloodwork he had to have. The vet told me so many things that are wrong with him. I simply received the poor dog too late.
These are in no particular order. Honestly, I am so pissed and upset about everything that it comes to me in fits and starts, so bear with me.
His Teeth: Every one has to be pulled. Period. He is on antibiotics now to try to get the infection down enough to pull them without it killing him, but Dr. Sally says it’s probably already too late.
His kidneys: blood in urine. Lots of blood. This could also be due to the infection in his mouth, but she thinks it’s something else.
His Bowels: Still bleeding from the impaction from him being so matted up across his anus he couldn’t poop, but she also says unlikely after a full week.
His back: Either birth deformation resulting in severe arthritis, or he has been injured somehow. Due to his age, she can’t tell without an x-ray.
Back legs: Left one has been broken twice without being set properly, so he is in pain from the resulting arthritis in the hip joint.
Front legs: Both paws are twisted in due to birth defects, which is why she is thinking the back is deformed instead of it being an injury.
Dr. Sally and I had a long heart to heart about this poor dog. She won’t tell me he needs to be euthanized, but at the same time, she put this dog’s chances at next to none because of everything. I agree with her, and I am trying to scrape the money together to have it done. I do have him on antibiotics and some pretty strong painkillers she gave me for him, but I have no way of scraping the money together until next month. That’s the problem with disability. He also pretty much cleaned out my savings account which was supposed to go for new tires for my truck.
So that’s where me and my little buddy sit right now. Again, please post happy stuff. I still need it.
