We all remember when, three weeks before the voters went to the polls, retired FBI Agent Brian McCauley offered a story in an interview in the Washington Post confessing that when asked to de-classifying a Benghazi email on Hillary’s private server he negotiated with State Department aide Pat Kennedy a possible deal for two slots for FBI Agents in Baghdad.
Right wing media went crazy for three days, screaming Quid Pro Quo, Quid Pro Quo, Quid Pro Quo until McCauley corrected the record, saying that, oops, he’d brought up a deal and not Kennedy, and it all came to naught anyway.
In a subsequent interview he said:
“he realized the deal involved Mrs. Clinton and the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya.
“When I found that out, all bets were off; it wasn’t even negotiable,” the former F.B.I. official, Brian McCauley, said in a telephone interview.”
What we didn’t know at the time was that McCauley was, at the time, employed by none other than Mike Flynn….
Crooks and Liars:
“A recently retired FBI agent, Brian McCauley, was the fact witness at the center of yet another Clinton email 'scandal' which broke about three weeks before the November 2016 election. This was the 'quid pro quo' story about email classification which broke in mid-October. It turns out that about two weeks before that story came out, McCauley had been placed on retainer by Trump advisor Michael Flynn, a retainer/consultancy agreement which eventually totaled $28,000.”
Here’s Edward R. Maddow’s report…
So now we know what Flynn was doing with that Turkish Lucre.
