While slaving away at me desk, found CNN on Sling, so I saw most of the testimony of Comey and NSA Director Rogers. What I heard was sobering, fascinating, and informative. Some here might complain that Comey did not give up details, salacious stuff that would have peppered every headline in the country tomorrow, it what he and Rogers did say was damning enough.
Two facts:
a. There was no wire tapping of Trump or Trump Towers.
b. There is an ongoing criminal investigation of collusion between Trump’s team and Russian agents.
It it was funny to watch Nunes try to row his sinking canoe upstream without an oar, while the shit filled river he was on continued flowing to the falls just down stream.
He concentrated on attacking, investigating and convicting those who let out the facts about Flynn, Paul Manafort, and Carter Page, and their many Russian connections, rather than deal with their actual points and bombshells.
And then, he denied that he ever heard of Manafort or Page. Today. On the record. In public. Here is what WaPo reported in January:
Democrats are skeptical that FBI Director James B. Comey will be forthcoming in the course of their investigation, and they have called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who wielded considerable influence in Trump’s campaign effort, to recuse himself from proceedings. In a briefing with reporters Monday, Sessions would only say he “would recuse myself on anything that I should recuse myself on,” without specifying whether he intended to involve himself in Russia-related matters.
Sessions also stated that he has “not examined” any contacts between the White House and the FBI over a New York Times story that reported frequent contacts between Trump campaign aides and Russian officials.
Nunes also confirmed Monday that he was one of the lawmakers to whom the White House turned to combat the story. The report mentioned Flynn, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and former campaign aide Carter Page, as well as Trump associate Roger Stone.
Not only did you work on the transition team, you dealt with those very traitors while trump prepared to take action.
After he denied even knowing or hearing of Manafort and Carter Page, Nunes doubled down even further
Let me be clear, I've been saying this for several weeks, we know there was not a physical wiretap of Trump Tower. However, it's still possible that other surveillance activities were used against President Trump and his associates," Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said during Monday's hearing on Russia's meddling in the U.S. election.

The idea that Nunes would be an honest committee chair, given his past behavior, his heading up the Trump transition team, and his pointed questions and willful ignorance of what Comey and Rogers were saying, is ineffably stupid. Nunes is doing what he does best — being a hatchet man for Trump.
Forget the nation, our security, Russian interference, and potential treason by Trump’s top aides, doubling down in favor of trump is far more important.
It it is time for Nunes to resign from the committee, if not congress.
