Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another.
Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.

THIS IS AN OPEN THREAD
Nothing is Off the Table
But play nice

First off, apologies —
I won’t be around when KTK goes live today. But I have a good excuse.
My youngest sister finally bought her first house, at age 49, after decades now of very well paid work. There’s a back story there, but it’s not relevant.
She bought a lovely one-story with pale, light and creamy color tones and wide open spaces, with the tiniest of back yards, just enough for a garden, dinner party space for her summer time guests.
Because my little sister is a home-centric get-together sort of person.
For nearly 30 years now she’s been a regular Friday and/or Saturday night Board Game Night aficionado. Plus, she loves to have holiday meals and get togethers, and has complete themed decorations and table runners for a variety of holidays. She sets a “home beautiful” table.
So yesterday and today and Tuesday and Wed and Thurs all I’ll be doing is packing what’s left, after the movers took all the heavy furniture, into UHaul boxes and getting ready for the 17’ box truck on Wed evening, to remove the rest of it.
Then I’ll be staying with her for 10 days to a couple of weeks, to help her unpack and settle in and get everything put away into it’s new place.
Plus, she’s getting some alterations done, like prepping for the new, dual door steel refrigerator already waiting in the garage, so there’ll be a couple estimates and work commenced promptly. She makes really good money and she likes to be an actual jobs creator — so she spends a big chunk of it back into the community, on home businesses and small business people.
Her kindness to me since 2009 has enabled me to not lose my house a number of times, so I’m gonna be refreshing my karma by helping her because her lease expires on Friday!
So that was my weekend and it’ll be my week.
Oh, yeah — and Hallelujah! the Left finally woke up out of it’s long, long slumber and rediscovered that the First Amendment isn’t just to protect political speech, but to ensure that your Representatives to Congress must Listen to you when The People are actually speaking…
US Constitution, First Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
[emphasis added for clarity]
#Resist and remain #Indivisible
Because this is the real truth, the one the Right can’t figure out how to get around, and is losing ground to day by day —
How was your week?
