Embattled Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R) just can’t catch a break these days. First there was a brutal Politico article which starts off by saying:
Rep. Barbara Comstock dodged constituents, declined town halls and avoided taking a public stance on the Republican Party’s increasingly unpopular health care bill in the months leading up to its collapse.
The day then took a turn for the worse when one of Rep. Comstock’s constituents wanted to talk with her about Russia. The Congresswoman beat a hasty retreat to the elevator but not before making a bizarre attack on unspecified Democrats.
Constituent: “Can I just ask you though, do you believe Russia is an enemy of the United States?”
Comstock: “Well yes I always have. Unlike a lot of Democrats.”
That’s quite the statement from someone in a Congressional district that Clinton won by ten points. You would think she would want to keep that carefully cultivated bipartisan image intact by resisting the urge to lash out at Democrats.
