Up until a couple of months ago, the state department did a damned good job of keeping us safe through diplomacy.
Diplomacy? What’s that? You may ask. In just a couple of months it’s a thing that has been all but erased from the American landscape.
Diplomacy is why North Korea was contained until recently. Diplomacy is why Russian oligarchs didn’t get to run ramshod until recently.
Diplomacy isn’t like running a business. It’s not transactional.
Rex Tillerson is the head of the Department of State. He’s responsible for diplomacy. He sucks at it, really big time. He says he’s doing it because his wife wanted him to do it. He shouldn’t be in that position, and people are starting to catch on. I actually think he’s making her the fall guy. That’s how this administration rolls. Blame anyone instead of taking personal responsibility.
Rex, why do you suck at your job?
Your answer — “My wife made me do it.”
You’re as limp as your boss, buddy. Your wealth doesn’t disguise that and neither does his.
