Based on the news today that Trump’s business trust is a total sham (see Jen Hayden’s diary here: www.dailykos.com/...), it’s worth taking another look at the recently publicized letter written by H. Scott Wallace, co-chairman of the Wallace Global Fund, to Morgan Lewis, the law firm aiding Trump in his ongoing trampling of Presidential ethics: www.politico.com/... The letter, which the Wallace Global Fund chose to publicly release, sets forth the reasons why Wallace Global Fund chose to fire Morgan Lewis. The whole letter is worth reading. Here’s the summation: “Americans deserve a President of undivided loyalty. Your firm has denied them that. We cannot be complicit in that.” The rest of the letter shows, in excruciating detail, the ethical failures of Trump and anyone who aids and abets his “ethical carnage.” This letter is important because it shows that good businesses can do the right thing. It’s also important, and important that it gets publicized, because businesses should be hurt by helping this President because such help is, at best, against the interests of America and, at worst, treason.
