According to the calendar, it's Spring, and has been for just over 2 weeks. I’ve been looking around where I live for signs of Spring, however, and tangible signs are few and far between. The woods around me are still decorated in bare trunks and branches; the ground carpeted in the golden tan leaves that fell over the fall and winter. The weather is starting to warm, and I can see the little buds on bushes and tree branches that signal the greenery to come, but for now, it’s still winter browns. Follow me below the fold for some pictures.
Those were taken last night and this morning. I know Spring is coming; I do have little daffodil shoots poking up in my yard, and they even have flower buds on them:
But it seems like Spring is not quite here yet. How about you? Any signs of Spring where you are, or Spring pictures you want to share?
Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another. Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well. |
As always, this is an open thread and nothing is off topic. What do you want to kibitz about tonight?
