Welcome again to Saturday Morning Home Repair blogging, where we talk about fixing houses and the things in them that are supposed to work for us. An ad hoc cadre of building professionals and gifted amateurs attempt to answer questions that arise from readers, and offer encouragement and advice for those inclined to do things for themselves, if they can. We all do a lot of things, collectively, and can probably help out with insights from our vast experience. Or sometimes, we just gab.
Heading out this morning to complete the plumbing for a couple sinks. I’ll be perched atop a 12’ ladder, precariously piping. Over whom’s cubicles I’ll be working? Not sure, but all will be as you left when you get back Monday morn.
Update on my front room refurbish: Walls and ceilings are painted. Considering a floor refinish. We have 70 year old “red oak” flooring. Pretty worn by the front door and some water damage by the front window. But this may not be in the budget at this time. A small rug could easily mask the problem area.
Holding off on the base and casements until a decision is made on the floor. And looking to get pricing and ideas for plantation shutters.
