Is it possible the intelligence community leaked the FISA warrant on Page in order to put pressure on him to roll over on the higher ups? Here is a link to Charles Pierces article in Esquire:
But more significant to me, anyway, is the fact that all of this leaked—the warrant and the specific individual against whom it was filed. This just doesn't happen. This can't be anything but a warning shot from the intelligence community. We know, and you know we know, so how about you watch your step for a while?
They clearly have some info on Page since the FISA was obtained and renewed at least once. There has to be something there for this. I read that the dilemma for the intelligence community is that much of what they gather can not be used in court. So they often try to pressure suspect to roll over on others to get criminal testimony and prosecutions.
Can anyone who know more about the intersection between information gathered by the intelligence community and use for prosecution?
