Now that Fox may be letting Bill O’Reilly go, MSNBC has swooped in and hired the controversial talk show host away from the conservative network. Beginning on May 1, 2017, O’Reilly will be co-anchoring with Chris Hayes at 8:00 and Rachel Maddow at 9:00.
“We welcome diversity in opinion and believe Bill provides a great balance for Rachel and Chris,” said MSNBC President Phil Griffin. We just didn’t think it was enough to have right winger Joe Scarborough on for three hours in the morning. And despite the addition of Greta Van Sustern at 6:00 pm. we are still being accused of being lefties.” We can’t have that.
This is the latest in the “liberal” Network’s efforts to “Lean Right,” — broadening its base audience by adding Republicans like Steve Schmidt, Michael Steele, Nicole Wallace and Hugh “Cyborg sent from the future to destroy America” Hewitt,”* an effort it openly bragged about last year.
O’Reilly will also have a regular feature with Chris Matthews called “In the Thunderball Dome-Zone,” in which the two of them will scream at the top of their lungs at each other for 15 straight minutes. Once a week they will have a cage match.
While appearing with any female MSNBC correspondents, the network will provide a “big beautiful wall” encircling O’Reilly. “We may be cynical and craven,” said Griffin, “but we’re not nuts.”
