Remember back to 2013?
Showcasing a tall stack of papers that he said was the text of the Affordable Care Act, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told CPAC that “Obamacare should be repealed root and branch.”
He noted in the course of his speech that the Affordable Care Act only passed by one vote, with all Senate Republicans voting against it. “We’ll fight [Obamacare] and every other assault on liberty that the left throws at us, and restore the American ideal,” he said.
That was so last administration.
“In four straight elections, we told the American people we wanted to repeal and replace Obamacare. Obviously that’s a lot harder to do than to say and the House has been wrestling with trying to figure out how to craft a replacement that can get enough Republican votes to pass,” McConnell told NewsMax Thursday.
“If the House is able to pass it, we’ll have a big challenge trying to pass it in the Senate as well,” he later added. […]
“It’s tricky because some states expanded and some didn’t…Kentucky expanded. Florida didn’t and how do you treat both of those fairly?” McConnell asked. “It’s a very challenging subject — and so far, regretfully, we’ve not been able to figure out a way forward.”
Fuck you, Mitch McConnell. You did this. You did this by screaming "repeal root and branch" for four elections so you could win, whether or not this was something you could actually make happen. You don't give a shit about the people of Kentucky and whether or not they keep their health care. You only care about winning. If you could win by screaming repeal for the last four elections, you'll scream "save our health care" for the next four. You are a completely amoral and a pathetic excuse for a senator. Maybe Kentucky will finally realize that when no one has health insurance anymore.
