Today’s the day, folks!
The April 18th Special Election for the Clerk of the Circuit Court servicing the county of Prince William and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. I’ve written about this election and why it matters in a previous diary as well as why I'm supporting Jacqueline Smith.
Many folks will have their eyes glued on the Special Election for the Georgia Congressional race, but there are still several reasons to also tune into this one, too. Virginia will get the first large-scale electoral answer to the new administration — THIS year — in the form of a Governor’s race, Lt. Governor’s race, Attorney General’s race, and all 100 House of Delegates (lower state house) seats being up for grabs. To top it all off, Prince William County is a bellwether for not only the state, but for the country.
In short — if you want a thermometer on just how engaged and fired up folks are to stand up and fight back, look no further than the election results tonight.
I’ll be posting a live election results diary once we get close to when the polls close (7:00 PM Eastern) so stay tuned!
