Steve Stephens, the suspect who posted video on Facebook of a brutal killing in Cleveland, fatally shot himself Tuesday in Pennsylvania, State Police said.
"Steve Stephens was spotted this morning by PSP members in Erie County," Pennsylvania State Police tweeted. "After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself."
Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said earlier Tuesday authorities had received more than 400 tips in the hunt for Stephens since police say he fatally shot Robert Godwin, 74, on Easter Sunday. Williams said the search was conducted nationwide, with tips coming in from as far away as Texas. Sightings had been reported in Pennsylvania.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Steve Stephens, the man accused of killing a random 74-year-old man and posting a video of the shooting, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday in Erie, Pennsylvania, according to news reports citing Erie police.
Stephens was in a McDonald's parking lot in Erie shortly after 11 a.m. today when a resident spotted him and called in a tip, Cleveland police Chief Calvin Williams said at a press conference addressing Stephens' death.
Troopers gave chase when Stephens fled. He stopped at one point, then shot himself when troopers approached, Williams said.
