There are serious decisions to be made when you are the head of the executive branch of one of the most powerful civilizations our planet has ever known. You won’t always make the right decisions but the hope is that if you get the job of president of the United States of America, you will show a modicum of competence and confidence in your decision making. A few weeks ago the New York Times ran a piece that talked about the divisions within the Trump White House concerning our participation in the Paris Climate Accord. A big problem is that some of these jackasses can’t bring themselves to admit that playing isolationist politics with the Earth is dumb with a capital B A N N O N.
Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s senior adviser, is pressing the president to officially pull the United States from the landmark accord, according to energy and government officials with knowledge of the debate. But, they say, he is clashing with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump, who fear the move could have broad and damaging diplomatic ramifications.
Today, the meeting the White House had scheduled to discuss this matter has been abruptly canceled.
Some of President Donald Trump's top advisers, including Energy Secretary Rick Perry and Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt, were scheduled to meet on Tuesday to discuss how Trump should handle the 2015 climate deal.
The meeting was canceled because "some of the principals are traveling today," the White House official said.
Too busy trying to line up big money deals for themselves? Who is to say? According to Time, White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said there’s nothing to worry about as they will kick the can down the road on this decision for a later date.
White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced Tuesday that the meeting had been postponed, blaming "scheduling conflicts for today," saying aides hope to discuss the issue with the president in the next several weeks.
Take your time, it’s not like the Earth is going anywhere, right? Everything’s fine. Why do my lungs hurt after taking the kids out in a stroller?
