I just watched Tom Perez again with Bernie Sanders in an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hays. And I know we should be supportive; and I was for Keith Ellison as the Top Guy at the DNC. I didn’t think Tom Perez possessed any charisma or especially vocal communication skills, or was able to put forward a clear message without a lot of not answering direct questions and not answering them at all. instead paragraphs of wishy-washy political mumbo jumbo.
He seemed then and still remains, to be ill at ease with being in the spotlight; wich with his background is very disappointing at this late stage in his career with the job he has taken on. And he is not likely to improve now. Perez whines and seems to struggle to talk when speaking. The old style tactics that last were effective to a small extent in the 1980s. And that's what the old guard at the top of the Democratic party whom left their base and followed Wall Street are comfortable with. To them I say, “Wake up and enter the 21st century politics.”
I have been watching Perez before and now after, hoping for improvement. I remain unconvinced by his performance. And I am not a millennial. I am a 60 year old life long active Democrat. And I cant follow him. How the hell did the old guys that elected him chose this completely out of step messenger. Do they want to continue to loose?
We need a energetic clear confident speaker to head the party. He falls way to short. Ellison is still who we need at the head or at least keep Perez away from campaigns and TV and any podiums. He has and will continue to loose supporters for lack of confidence in his message. Put up Ellison as the front man.
