I’m well past the point of shaking my head. I wouldn’t put up with this kind of infantile nonsense from one of my daughters when they were 4. But with the Rust Top Toupee, it’s becoming standard operating procedure. Why? Because we (the media) keep letting him get away with it.
Trump has made another Imperious proclamation, complete with uniformed trumpeters, soaring doves, and a herald with a curling scroll. OK, you got me, the silly little shit sent out another tweet, same thing for him. He announced that he’s holding a “YUGE” rally in Harrisburg PA next Saturday, April 29th. This just happens to be his 100th day in office. It also happens to be the night that the White House Correspondents dinner is being held. You know, the one Trump flipped a middle finger to because he doesn’t want to pal around with the losers who want him hung by his heels?
You know, after watching this Presidential impersonation of Inspector Clouseau for as long as I have, I’m starting to have trouble figuring out where in the hell he gets his vaunted reputation. He is said to have a voracious appetite for revenge, he’ll wait years if necessary, letting it burn like a charcoal briquet until he gets his payback. And the payback must be 10X the pain of the original insult. Really? This kind of petty shit, trying to step on somebody elses toes is the best you can do after they have spent the last 20 months whacking you around like an orange tufted pinata, not realizing that there is no candy inside? What a lame ass.
I got a better idea. This is not a Presidential address. If it was, it would last about 30 seconds, simply because he doesn’t have one goddamn accomplishment to brag about in his first 100 days. It’s a stupid campaign rally, the administration admits it, and his reelection campaign is paying for it. Considering the fact that we are still 19 months from the midterms, there is no reason to spend :01 on this blatant act or self serving verbal masturbation.
Now, today, this minute is the time to get on social media and make sure that the networks know exactly how we feel about this. CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, MSNBC, CNN and everybody else who was committed to or planning on broadcasting the speech and parody part of the Correspondents dinner, don’t you change a thing! Don’t you dare to pull us away from actual entertainment to put us through another endless nightmare Trumpenstein rally that we had hoped to leave behind us long ago. It’s the least you can do to at least try to atone for your previous sins.
