So, did you march in the Science March this weekend? Looks like many people did! I wish I was able to find one close to me, but I live in a pretty rural area. I did enjoy looking at the signs from the march. Here are a few:
If you went to a march, share your sign!
Once again, DKos formatting is being a bear today. I hope this diary doesn’t look too crazy when I’m done!
Here’s an interesting piece on the Sciences Marches:
March for Science
A bit from the piece:
At the main March for Science, demonstrators gathered at Washington's National Mall to hear speakers laud science as the force moving humanity forward, and rail against policymakers they say are ignoring fact and research in areas including climate change.
"Today we have a great many lawmakers -- not just here but around the world -- deliberately ignoring and actively suppressing science," one of the event's speakers, TV host and scientist Bill Nye, told a rain-soaked crowd from a stage.
"Their inclination is misguided and in no one's best interest. Our lives are in every way improved by having clean water, reliable electricity and access to electronic global information."
The Women’s March, the Tax Day March and the March for Science shows that our Resistance is on the rise and continues to grow stronger every day. Next up: The Climate March on April 29th. We need to be persistent because the GOP will not give up. For them, it’s all about funneling money into a few pockets (mainly theirs) without a thought about the damage they are doing. To me, very stupid short-term thinking. It’s not like they have another planet to go live on when they destroy this one. Don’t they have kids and grand kids? I guess they are that selfish that they do not care about their lives.
And for some other news, here’s a tour of Twitter:
The French voters have hopefully learned a lesson from our election!
GOPers say they are holding Trump accountable like they would a Democrat? LOL!
So disrespectful! But what else would we expect from a reality TV show president?
This speaks volumes ….. hopefully we will one day be heard!
Happy Monday! Let’s chat …….
