Standwithus is a pro-Israel, Jewish group that I belong to on Facebook.
They put together this video, which for some reason I cannot embed to show in the diary but it is well worth watching.
The internationally recognized date for Holocaust Remembrance Day corresponds to the 27th day of Nisan on the Hebrew calendar. It marks the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising In Hebrew, Holocaust Remembrance Day is called Yom Hashoah. The date falls on April 24, of this year.
As we remember the Holocaust the video itself focuses on the Armenian Genocide and is worth watching.
Today marks 102 years since the start of the Armenian Genocide in which the Ottoman Empire brutally murdered 1.5 million Armenians simply for being Christians.
Today we stand with our Armenian brothers and sisters in full recognition of the genocide committed against them. To this day, the Ottoman Empire's direct successor Turkey has not admitted or made any amends for the crimes which they committed.
