This is an attempt at crowdsharing to keep track of the Republican NO votes for the latest version of Zombie Trumpcare (ZTC).
If you have a solid cite for a Republican House member who is voting NAY on the latest version of ZTC put it in the comments and I will maintain the list. If you evidence that said member has changed his or her position since the cite, note that in the comments. Also, please correct any factual errors or false assumptions in the below writeup, and I will correct.
As best I know, there are currently 431 House members. Therefore 216 aye votes are necessary to pass legislation, including ZTC.
There are 238 Republicans and 193 Democrats in the House. Assuming no Democrat will vote for ZTC (not an entirely obvious proposition, but let's go with it), at least 23 Republicans would have to either vote nay, abstain or be absent for ZTC not to pass (238 - 23 = 215).
Jason Chaffetz is reported to be in Utah and undergoing surgery and according to his own statements will be absent from Washington for the next while. If that's true that is one R who counts towards our tally/goal of 23.
Here is what I have so far:
The Hill has a whipcount that claims there are 21 nays and 55 unclear/undecided reps. Some of these are reflected above but some of them have no sourcing, are old or seem weak.
Update via Politico:
More than 15 lawmakers — mostly moderates — have said publicly they will not vote for the current bill.
But they don’t list them. More than 15 is at least 16… So the list here would then be missing a couple.
