Everybody knows that the first 100 days of a presidency is a relatively arbitrary choice for marking the productivity of a new administration—especially an administration that is almost willfully incompetent. But since our new unpopular president made such a big deal about it during the campaign, we must forge ahead and ask ourselves, what has he done? The answer of course is, nothing good. Gallup released a poll on Tuesday that shows the American people agree with every single person not named Sean Hannity’s assessment of the Trump administration. Here’s a quick breakdown of the results:
- 54% say Trump has not made progress to change Washington
- 40% believe he has made progress
- Americans were more likely to say Obama had made progress in 2009
Gallup points out that President Obama was clearly more popular than President Trump as were his job approval ratings when compared to the garbage pile that is the Donald. Another interesting fact is that the partisan divide in the polling was no where near as drastic when President Obama was in office, compared to a post-obstructionist-Republican-legislative branch, Trump administration. I guess the Republicans reap what they have sown.
