While I was casting about for a topic, I noticed that May is apparently “Clean Car Month”. As I just got a new car on Monday, mine is not only clean (aside from the pollen that accumulates daily), but it has that nice new car smell. It won’t last, but now that my commute is much shorter, perhaps it will last longer than it used to. When I spent about 2 ½ hours per day commuting, my car held all manner of junk; store flyers, empty drink containers, empty snack wrappers, junk mail, and receipts. In addition to the junk, I had quite a few useful items; a swiss army knife, flashlights, charging/connection cables for my phone and iPod, an aluminum hydraulic jack, bungee cords, and reusable shopping bags. But all in all, it made for a messy car.
How about you? Do you have a messy car or a clean car (or do you eschew cars altogether)?
Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another. Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
As always, this is an open thread and nothing is off topic. What do you want to kibitz about tonight?
