It remains up in the air who actually coined that phrase, including the many different versions of it, but any one of them seem a pretty accurate fit for this latest idiocy by Trump.
And yeah.. I’ve sort of buried the lede, but always wanted to post that quotation and couldn’t come up with another title that didn’t include the idiot’s name and the words; fuck you
Just recently several reports out have mentioned executive privilege in various discussions in which only a few scattered among them have yet to come right out and use the words Obstruction of Justice in their headlines. I’ve long thought Obstruction of Justice is exactly what is happening and not just by the Trump regime, but the bulk of the GOP involved in aiding and abetting in the Trump/Russia collusion cover-up.
So instead of re-hashing that which has been covered from just about every angle; Just a quick note for the record.
If Trump tries to silence Comey, this coming Tuesday, as Trump and the GOP tried to silence Sally Yates, and failed…
Yates had been scheduled to appear before the committee Tuesday with former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence Michael Clapper.
..the Trump regime will again fail, because of Trump’s own letter in firing Comey, thanking Comey three times saying:
“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation..” — a flat out lie — Trump has eliminated any (if it had any bearing in the first place) executive privilege to silence James Comey:
...if the White House does attempt to invoke executive privilege to silence Comey, Wright said, Watergate will inevitably be a big part of the debate.
That’s a potentially high political price for what law profs Wright and Clark said would probably be a losing legal argument for the Trump administration.
One of the critical vulnerabilities for the White House, according to the professors, is Trump’s own public description of his conversations with Comey.
Those could be considered a waiver of any presidential privilege protecting Trump's interactions with the former FBI director.
Trump is an idiot. And a liar.
It was being questioned and debated whether he has any executive privilege to silence Comey, but with Trump unable to shut his mouth, he ended any doubt ..again — imo
.
note: just turned on the news, and stories are moving so quickly, that this diary, started earlier today, is already old news it seems. To say that nothing about this Trump regime is normal, doesn’t cut it anymore — not even close

Harvard Professor Laurence Tribe, who is currently working with CREW on lawsuits over Trump’s violations of the emoluments clause to the U.S. Constitution, weighs in:

President Donald Trump says he asked former FBI Director James Comey if he was under investigation. Constitutional expert Laurence Tribe takes issue with that and other Trump actions he says are likely impeachable offenses.
