I am a huge fan of cartoons….though I have to admit the cartoons I usually watch are from the 50s-70s. In my view most cartoons stopped being decent in the 80s and by today they are far less frequent.
However even in the last few years there are some really good cartoons
The Simpsons, although still on, in my opinion has decreased in quality over the decades it has been on. I do have to give it props though for being a trend-setter and still having moments that are funny.
I used to love King of the Hill back when it was on, but unfortunately as of 2010 it went off the air...much too soon in my very humble view.
I really like Family Guy, with its political comments, its raunchiness, and just in general it causes me to chuckle in each episode.
But no cartoon of today can compete with Bob’s Burgers. If you have never seen it I suggest you do as soon as possible. It is on Fox on Sunday nights and Adult Swim every week night.
The show features Bob and Linda, the two parents that run “Bob’s Burgers” which is your typical local burger joint that sometimes tries too hard to be a successful business. The show also features Tina, the oldest daughter, who is a hopeless romantic who loves her boys and her horses. Then there is Louise, who is the...true hero of the show. Well maybe anti-hero but still one of the stand-outs. She is very umm, well deranged is not the right word for it, but with her rabbit ears she wears all the time, her asides are enough to crack you up. Then there is the male son, Gene, your typical heavy-set if a bit off character who although usually ending up in trouble, he means well.
