Senator Bernie Sanders had this to say about Impeachment and Trump. At CNN Townhall along with John Kasich, this is what Sen Sanders said:
“John is right,” Sanders stated. “I don’t think you want to make that leap to impeachment until you follow a path which leads us there. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. But I’m not there at this point.”
As folks know in this forum and if you spend a minute going through my diaries, i am a critic of Sen Sanders. But he has the PERFECT ATTITUDE on the Impeachment talks. It’s way too early and the pressure should be the thrown light in every corner to understand what happened and get the process right — Independent Consul, President Trump made to answer questions on when & why events unfolded. At the end of the process, we can start getting to Impeachment.
Impeachment is a double edged sword. Use it in partisan spirit and your base will rally to you and fight to ignore your shortcomings — Clinton’s impeachment is a good case in point. Use it as a bipartisan tool and the truth wins.
My Transcript of Sen Sanders’ response:
Here is the question mark … How does it happen? Why does it happen that a candidate for the President of the United States consistently expresses sympathy for a guy who is undermining democracy in his own country, who clearly wants to destroy alliances in place since World War II. As John indicated, he is waging warfare, cyber warfare country after country, holding free elections, undermining elections all over the world. So i think people all over the country scratch their heads as to why is Trump during the campaign saying such kind things about Mr Putin. And then we learn of course about the cyber attacks that supported, ended up supporting Trump over Clinton. And where we are right now is trying to determine was there collusion between the Trump’s campaign and Trump’s people have a number of contacts in Russia. John is right. I don’t think you want to make that leap to impeachment until you follow a path which leads us there. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. But I’m not there at this point.
