Chris Cillizza has said, written and tweeted some horrible things, but it’s hard to top in awfulness his tweet from 12:27 today:

Did you spend a second over Memorial Day weekend thinking of Greg Gianforte's choke slam?
Me neither. Which means Republicans bet right.

This is not only an apotheosis of “view from nowhere,” repulsiveness. Any journalist or media figure who doesn’t condemn this and ostracize Cillizza based solely on this deserves obscurity.
He is not only minimizing a horrendous act against a fellow journalist, he is praising Republicans for “betting right” that it will not be treated seriously -- a self-fulfilling prophecy aided and abetted by his failure to publish outrage about it and the very Republicans’ “bet” that condemning it won’t hurt them. Cillizza’s reasoning :
Republicans were silent or supportive and there wasn’t a lot of mainstream media outrage. Therefore, Republicans did the right thing by aiding and abetting assault after the fact.
It is worse than “the cult of the savvy” -- the “school” of media that bases everything on results, facts and everything else be damned.
Values, morality and truth are out the window. Anything goes unless it dominates the news — even if the dominance is created by the news itself.
It’s horrifying that a supposed “member” of the profession would tweet this. Does he have to be slammed himself to realize what he is encouraging? I doubt even that would do it.
CNN needs to fire this guy immediately and consign him to the dustbin of failed pretend journalists.
