The wins are starting to come fast and furious these days. The resistance movement has taken time to create the building blocks upon which victory can be achieved and though obviously we won't win them all at least at the local level we’re racking up check marks in the win column.
San Antonio just held their mayoral and city council elections and the news is fantastic! Not only did incumbent mayor Taylor lose to Nirenberg a progressive (both are Democrats), but in the council there were some shocking upsets.
Ivy Taylor lost by 10 points to underdog Rob Nirenberg, who in the primary lost by 5 points, a 15 point swing to victory! In CD02 William Shaw pulled an upset victory over incumbent Alan Warrick by a 12 point margin as well.
The biggest victory however has come from the most conservative district CD09 in San Antonio where progressive John Courage has won, shocking political observers.
We won’t win every battle, we won't see progress in every race, but if we continue to fight from the lowest level on up we will win the war in the end.
P.S. I'm not someone from San Antonio, so if there are any mistakes or things you want me to add please let me know and I will do so.
Go team blue!
