On Sunday, NBC’s Megyn Kelly told the world that she had conducted an extensive interview with sentient human detritus Alex Jones of InfoWars, and she was going to be airing it this coming week. The fall out from that event has been fast and intense as one of Jones’ great contributions to humanity has been peddling the irresponsible and completely illogical conspiracy theory that there was no actual Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting. Instead it was a fake plot to do some new world order thing. I don’t want to even think about the pain this causes the families of the children murdered at Sandy Hook. Advertisers have begun to shy away from the event—being a child murder denier is not nearly as good for legitimate business as climate denial and Page 6 is reporting that NBC executives are starting to freak out.
Insiders told us that staff were in panicked meetings all day on Monday. “It’s a s - - t show. No one wants to withstand a whole week of criticism over this. There are a number of people who want to pull the interview.”
But another source told us NBC needs the controversy to shake up their Sunday night and to bring new viewers. “No one expected sponsors to pull out, but this is why they hired Megyn. They expect to lose and gain viewers and they want the buzz.”
“Buzz.” Like hiring a woman who made her career race-baiting for Fox News?
