PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT UPDATE.
Just heard on MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) that two of Erdogan’s goons have been arrested and charged with assault for their participation in last month’s brutal beating of protestors in our nation’s Capital. I haven’t been able to locate an article about this on MPR’s web site and NPR’s web site, but I did find one on The Guardian’s web site.
Two men have been arrested for their role in a violent altercation outside the Turkish ambassador’s residence during a recent visit to Washington by Turkey’s president, police said Wednesday.
The Metropolitan police department said in a brief statement that Sinan Narin had been arrested in Virginia on an aggravated assault charge. It said Eyup Yildirim had been arrested in New Jersey on charges of assault with significant bodily injury and aggravated assault.
The department released no further details about the men but said additional information would be available Thursday.
Maybe there will be a modicum of justice in this case. Apparently the two arrested are not believed to have Diplomatic Immunity, or they would not have been arrested.
Update: 11:00 PM
As has been pointed out, the two people listed above were NOT Turkish Guards, however, another article, at the New York Times website, indicates even better news. Apparently, twelve (12) guards ARE likely to be arrested and charged.
WASHINGTON — Law enforcement officials plan to announce charges Thursday against a dozen members of the Turkish president’s security detail for their involvement in a brutal attack on protesters outside the Turkish ambassador’s residence here last month, two American officials said on Wednesday.
The authorities have already charged several others, including two Americans and two Canadians, with taking part in the violent skirmish.

Rec list! Woo hoo! Thank you.
Update 11:33 AM 6/15
Sadly, the Washington Post printed this not-unexpected bit of information:
“Law enforcement and legal experts have said bringing the attackers to justice could be difficult because Turkey is unlikely to extradite suspects or make them available for interviews.”
So this good news might have been intended to be a sop to the Liberals rather than a true action taken.
