If you are not on this list, please feel free to jump in! Any short, heartfelt message of love and support will do. It is not necessary for you to know him for your words to have great meaning and effect. Trust me, it just works! Okay...time for a gratuitous community quilt picture:
And anyone who contributed messages to the Mother Emanuel quilt, please know that Ann and I presented the quilt to the church at Sunday services this past weekend. Thanks again to Gordon20024 for getting us there and back — it was a pilgrimage of a lifetime for us. Tomorrow is the 2nd anniversary of the horrific, racially motivated murders at that church. The Emanuel 9 are being commemorated in a series of events over the coming days — if you are near Charleston, SC, please do check them out!
Please come in, be comfortable, and share your day, your weekend plans, and your menus!
Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another. Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well. |
