The Washington Post did a little research on William C. Bradford, unpopular President Donald Trump’s choice to head the Energy Department’s Office of Indian Energy.
Bradford was recently appointed director of DOE’s office in charge of assisting Native American and Alaska Native tribes and villages with energy development. Before joining the department, he was attorney general of the Chiricahua Apache Nation. He has also been a faculty member at the U.S. Military Academy, the National Defense University, the Coast Guard Academy and the United Arab Emirates National Defense College. According to his online biography on the department’s website, he holds a doctorate, a law degree and a master’s in business administration.
The Post discovered that Bradford used to have a Twitter account that has disappeared. But before it disappeared, Bradford was pushing some awful theories and saying some pretty disgusting things. Like this:
I don’t think he should be hoping that people get what they deserve. The Post got in contact with Bradford who said this strange thing way back four months ago. He was so much younger back then.
“As a minority and member of the Jewish faith, I sincerely apologize for my disrespectful and offensive comments,” he wrote to The Washington Post. “These comments are inexcusable and I do not stand by them. Now, as a public servant, I hold myself to a higher standard, and I will work every day to better the lives of all Americans.”
That was February. How about way back in December of 2016? You know like half a year ago now.
You can see some of the other things Bradford’s pushed, including fake anxiety news over the conspiratorial idea that President Obama would stay in office and not allow Trump to become President. He also tweeted out climate denial type stuff as well. Yes, that guy is now the head of an important office in an important department in our government. For some reason there isn’t a picture next on the official contacts page for the department. Probably hasn’t gotten around to getting a photo taken yet.
