How can you tell when a habitual Liar is back at it again?
When they say that “They agreed with the known facts all along” — they just had a “more nuanced view” than everyone else.
In this case, Trump’s “nuance view” on the Russian Hacking was, “Yeah but, THEY weren’t the only ones doing it!”
(IOW, a “distinction” without any foundation, in reality-based findings.)
[...]
“I know you thought Hillary would win, but how could you not reveal important information about Russia hacking?” [Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president,] said. “When the president found out about it in January, as president, he said it was a disgrace. He believes Russia was behind it, but he thinks other people hacked, too.”
[...]
Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), the Democratic minority leader, rejected Conway's remarks in an interview immediately after hers on the show, noting that the Obama administration is “no longer in charge” and calling on the White House to support a bipartisan Senate bill that imposes additional sanctions on Russia and Iran. The White House is lobbying against the bill.
“Now, Donald Trump seems to be opposing that,” Schumer said. " The American people are scratching their heads. Knowing his relationship with Putin, they’re saying why the heck is he opposing strengthening sanctions?”
IOW that’s what you call “Back-tracking and getting on the ‘same page’ as everyone else” — BIG TIME!
One small problem though. If the perpetual Liar really believes the latest spin coming out the White House — why then are they trying to block any effort to “do something about it?”
Their “pivot and re-group move” doesn’t match, their reflex to let Russia slide — ie. to let Putin’s mischievous by-gones be by-gones … just water under some no-consequences bridge:
—
The Trump administration is planning to step up its lobbying against parts of a bipartisan Senate bill slapping new sanctions on Russian and Iran, a senior official said [...]
The White House opposes provisions that could be seen as preempting the president’s powers, the official said. Of particular concern is a congressional review process that would allow the House and Senate to block the president from lifting sanctions.
[...]
The Trump administration has publicly warned against impeding presidential prerogatives to relieve sanctions. “We would ask for the flexibility to turn the heat up when we need to, but also to ensure that we have the ability to maintain a constructive dialogue,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told the House Foreign Affairs Committee last week.
Lest anyone forget, not too long ago the resident Liar was actively pushing this made-up “narrative”:
THIS is the “@real Donald Trump” … it is as “FAKE NEWS as it gets, and everyone knows it!”
Before the CYA-pivot Conway attempted today, the “real Donald” was pushing more “fake reports” like this — with absolutely NO Evidence to back him up, except for “his word.”
PolitiFact rates yet another Trump’s unsubstantiated claim (aka “a Lie”) about there being No Russian electoral influence … as being positively FALSE.
You know “real Donald”, what they said about “real integrity”
— that a person is only as good as “their word” — it is their bond —
Used to be you could take it to the bank.
No longer, with the Resident Liar in the House. SAD. Tragic even.
