Donald Trump filed for re-election on Inauguration Day. Last night he had his first fundraiser --$10 million — for his 2020 campaign. According to Mitch McConnell once campaign season — filing for reelection, holding fundraisers for your campaign — starts, you can’t nominate judges. He claims this rule is why he refused to consider Merrick Garland.
Since Donald Trump has checked all these boxes:
1) Filed for reelection.
2) Held fundraisers for reelections and Special Elections, and stumped for the candidates.
3) Has held a fundraiser for his reelection campaign.
Let’s hold him to the same rule. Refuse to consider any judicial and any Supreme Court nominees Trump sends over and when asked why, cite the McConnell Rule, especially the part about once campaign season starts, you can’t nominate any judges. According to McConnell, Trump has gone from Year 1 of his term to Year 4 in less than 6 months. Karma’s a bitch, Mitch.
