I have absolutely no problem if you want to have plastic surgery. Lord knows it would do Donald Trump some good. What I do have a problem with is the hypocrisy.
By now, everyone has heard of Donald Trump’s ugly tweet accusing Mika Brzezinski of bleeding from a facelift. She didn’t have a facelift at all, but that's not the point. Plenty of people do. Some do it for the right reasons (for themselves) and others do it for the wrong reasons (for others)—but it’s their damn reasons.
What I DO have a problem with in regards to plastic surgery is people like Donald and Melania Trump:
- I have a real problem with Donald Trump’s extreme obsession with a woman’s looks and then trashing them for trying to keep themselves youthful.
- I have a real problem with Melania Trump actually DEFENDING her husband’s classless trashing of a woman’s looks when she should knows damn well the toxic culture her husband fosters which force many women to undergo the knife in the first place.
(And, by the way, you can start your “anti-bullying” campaign anytime, Melania.)
Melania knows all too well the effects of aging: no wife has made it past 50 with the Donald. Melania is apparently trying to get ahead of the game. The Express.UK spoke to a few surgeons who estimate that Melania has had work done that was worth over £10,000. Their comments are speculative, and they cannot state categorically any treatment done as Melania has never admitted to having surgery; yet they point to signs of facial reconstruction, injectables, and “obvious" indications of heavy treatment with a neurotoxin:
I noticed the very obvious signs of likely Botox recently, when watching her on a TV interview. She was given a rather personal account of her background yet her upper face was not moving in harmony with her words. In fact, it was not moving at all. This suggests too heavy doses are being used by her doctor.
Again, I don’t begrudge Melania getting any surgery or treatments. She has the right to extend the clock, and she already suffers plenty having to be married to that mass of vile. Yet I do have a lot of issues with her as an individual that stem from her continuously sanctioning her abusive husband.
Those issues pale in comparison to that of her temper-trantrum throwing, vulgar husband.
I’m sure Donald Trump would be livid if I made any sort of comment about his enabling wife “bleeding from the face” after a treatment. His supporters would be losing their collective minds all over Breitbart, Stormfront, or whatever white supremacist site they get their “news” from. They’d be horrified that I'd stoop to attacking the appearance of his lovely wife, and accuse me of becoming unhinged.
In that alternate reality, I would probably point out to them that they would actually be defending Trump if he were to say such a crass, awful thing to another woman.
And I’d be right.
