So yes, I too got thrown off by some of the site’s (server?) problems, but today it did seem like an interesting time to consider how everyday life has been altered since November 2016.
We discussed stickers a number of diaries back, but today I was driving behind a number of cars which announce to the world that the driver could possess a concealed carry permit for firearms, and today’s example above featured a infowars sticker beneath it, touting Alex Jones, noted nutter, This combination of crazy and gubs prompting me to return to an earlier thought...
Aside from the idea that announcing that one has a concealed weapon, it defeats the purpose of concealment, and technically makes the situation de facto open carry, perhaps with some degree of irony. The other thought is that such announcements, aside from phallus-waving, simply invite more escalated violence.
In the case above and with the tinted windows, would a LEO be more likely to have those spidey senses (situational awareness) and draw their service sidearm upon exiting their patrol car, even if this was a “normal” traffic stop, and they saw the above two stickers. OTOH there is an argument suggesting that perhaps forewarning the LEO might minimize misunderstanding, but that gets canceled by the second sticker referring to Alex Jones.
Potentially tragic consequences.
