I’ve been stewing in what I’ve been planning to write about the complete and utter lack of leadership by President Trump in regards to this weekend; after spending Saturday in one of the two Charlottesville area ERs in the wake of the terrorist attack, I’ve had a shorter fuse than normal for his bombastic idiocy.
Today, I watched him go “Eh, those weren’t really all white supremacists and Nazis. Besides, the leftists were causing trouble, too!
Let me explain something to you, sir, since you seem unable (or unwilling) to comprehend this simple fact. Yes. Those were all white supremacists. And I can assure you first hand, sir, that our ERs weren’t taken unawares by ambulances and carloads of injured Nazis.
I then watched him proceed to brag about his winery here in Charlottesville.
Well, guess what? I’m running for the Virginia House of Delegates in the very district his winery is in.
I’m not running against Mr. Trump; I’m running against a guy who chaired his campaign’s leadership team here in Virginia. Who helped Ed Gillespie enact Operation Red Map to gerrymander the Commonwealth. Who advocated for our transvaginal ultrasound bill. Who single-handedly has kept Virginia from raising our felony larceny rate, and helping to keep the school-to-prison pipeline stronger as ever. I’ve been outspoken that Democrats can’t just run against Donald Trump and expect to win.
But y’know what? Given what transpired in our community over the weekend, and the response our community has received from the President of the United States- and given how much he’s driven by ego above all else- when we win in November, and replace a loyal surrogate and family friend of the Trump family with an ER Nurse that saw firsthand the carnage caused by the one of the few groups, other than dictators and cronies, that he refuses to disavow…
It won’t just be a personal strike to his ego. It won’t just be a step in giving Virginians a government that’ll actually govern for them. Someone who’ll put people before party every single day.
It’ll be personal.
Donate today to make that happen.
Thank you.
