I wrote a diary this morning talking about the political effects of the violence in Charlottesville this weekend on the GOP. It went into detail about Trump’s lack of appropriate response for more than 48 hours...Well, just now Trump doubled down on his original equivocation of guilt in the violence.
CNN is breaking the news of Trump’s press availability, and he was unhinged. I can’t even describe it, I’ll let CNN quote his exact words;
"I think there is blame on both sides," he said.
"What about the alt-left that came charging at, as you say, the alt-right, do they have any semblance of guilt?" Trump said. "What about the fact they came charging with clubs in hands, swinging clubs, do they have any problem, I think they do."
He added: "You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. nobody wants to say it, but I will say it right now."
I was unable to embed the video, but it is on the CNN story, and it’s truly pathetic. But that’s just me, speaking for myself...Apparently there are people out there who love Trump’s tough stance...And count the Grand Asshole Wizard of the KKK as one of them;
OK, so let’s see those sanctimonious pricks at the GOP justify this one. You lie down with dogs and you wake up with fleas. Duke has Trump over the barrel, and he’s putting his own pressure on the Inglorious Basterd to keep him in line. I wrote in my diary that the GOP could not tolerate Trump’s continuing public association with the neo Nazi’s and the KKK, and now they’re really looking at an existential choice between Trump and survival. What will they choose?
