I read a poll showing our most probable 2020 Democratic nominees and their elect-ability against Donald Trump. I expect us to take control of Congress in 2018, I myself am hoping to unseat my Tea Party Congressman in my own district of CA-01. We’ll probably impeach Trump way before 2020 but anyway….
Senator Bernie Sanders is the most electable and he beats Donald Trump by 20%. Bernie would have my vote!!
Former VP Joe Biden ties Sanders and will beat Trump by 20%
Senator Elizabeth Warren beats Donald Trump by 14%
My rookie Senator, KaMala Harris beats Donald Trump by 1% but probably has a chip shot at the undecided voters. If she’s not a future US president, she’s at least a future US attorney general. She made Sessions “nervous.”
Finally, and I hope we don’t make this mistake again, Hillary Clinton is the least electable beating Trump by 1%. Hillary Clinton might be able to do better if she changes her campaign style a little bit. In 2016, she didn’t show up in places she expected to win and she definitely didn’t show up in places, like mine, that she expected to lose. She wound up losing 3 quarters of the swing states plus Michigan, a state that Democrats have owned since the lying Ronald Reagan was able to win it because he was a clever “play on words” liar.
Just as an alert, Jeb Bush is throwing his hat in the race in 2020. We don’t support Jeb Bush but with a good voter turnout, he might be able to get the nomination.
Interestingly, that’s only happened once in history. The Democrats did not nominate their incumbent Grover Cleveland and they lost. Then they nominated Cleveland four years later and they won. Cleveland served two nonconsecutive terms.
Interestingly, most people make the mistake of counting that as two Presidents. So we really should be calling Trump 44 not 45. Actually the fact that Trump is even on that list with Obama, Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, FDR, and George Washington makes me want to vomit.
