in July I went into the hospital for seizures and what they thought might be pneumonia. I was discharged after 5 days. 2 days later I went back into the hospital for 8 days for what they thought was a COPD exacerbation. I then was discharged and went back in serious condition the next day for what turned out to be an UTI and sepsis. I was there for eight days.
Then 2 days later my doc and home healthcare nurse told me to go back in the hospital where i had been for the last 3 weeks.Turns out I had to have a broncoscope during which time I crashed was put on a ventilator and had a tube shoved down my throat and spent 2 days or so in ICU.
Turns out they think everything is related to my crohn’s. Due to the crohn’s I am more susceptible to getting kidney stones which usually leads to an UTI which then led to sepsis. I also am one of the lucky few to have lung involvement with my crohn’s so none of the original meds they were treating me with had any effect. They had taken me off the one anti-crohns drug I was on since I was immunocomproised because of it and I had infections. Turns out they put me back on the treatment and they think it will treat the crohn’s and the stuff coming after it.
So since I spent so long in the hospital and had the tube down me, they brought me to the hospitals rehab unit where for 1 ½ weeks I had 3 hours of occupational and physical therapy daily.
They aimed for today for me to get out, I am a lot stronger than when I went in, so out I came.
I now have a knee brace to use all the time now and a smaller walker I am supposed to use all the time, that actually fits inside my small house.
So… that is where I have been. I’ve missed the GOS and thank everyone for their kind thoughts, prayers and posts.
I have no idea how I am going to pay off the last 6 weeks or so… if you can or want to help my paypal address is houstonbfskinner at netscape dot net and my my gofundmepage is here
All I can say it is good to be back in my own place, with the two overlords, and not being in the hospital, ER, or rehab unit.
I’ve missed my Daily Kos fix for the last few weeks, but more importantly I’ve missed all of you.
