Sen. Susan Collins is “leaning against” voting for the Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill, while Sen. Rand Paul, who has come under fire from Donald Trump for saying he opposes the bill, tweeted Friday morning that he “won’t be bribed or bullied.” If Collins and Paul stand firm, just one more Republican “no” vote would sink the proposal. So this is a big deal:
We can’t trust Collins or Paul until the votes are in, but we’re also still waiting to hear from Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who has been offered the sweet bribe of her state getting to keep Obamacare. If Collins, Paul, and McCain—and possibly Murkowski—all vote no, all the states could keep Obamacare.
Don’t let up the pressure. Don’t relax. LIGHT UP THE PHONE LINES. Call your senators at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to vote “NO” on any repeal bill. (After you call, please tell us how it went.)
