Data & Democracy Conference
Doc Dawg organized and executed a completely worthwhile event yesterday in Durham, NC, the poster-child state for Repub shenanigans. His company, Insightus, which is based on data-driven activism, hosted the event.
insightus (pronounced "incite us") harnesses the 21st Century technology of data science to promote a just, civil, democratic and sustainable world. It does this by discovering societal challenges hinted at in large data sets, effectively communicating these newly discovered issues to the public, and collaborating with other highly effective action-oriented non-profits to press for legal and other solutions — a three-part process we term data-driven activism.
Doc Dawg collected several outstanding panelists and presenters for this one-day conference. I’m sure he’ll do a thorough recap but here is my short offering with photos of the Daily Kos readers who attended:
And for my pièce de résistance...
