Good morning! Welcome to the DKos Sangha weekly open thread.
This is an open thread for members of the DKos Sangha and interested visitors who happen by. Each of us has our own path; we come here by way of many different traditions, and of no particular tradition. While the language we use may differ depending on the traditions, teachers, practices, and teachings that have shaped our journeys, we find in common, generally, a search for who we truly are, our true nature, and to bring the peace and compassion born of that search into the greater world of which we are a part. If you wish to share, or if you seek support, or if you simply want to say hello, please do; this space is for you.
Fall has arrived, and with it, Nature begins to prepare for her Winter rest. The mornings are filled with crisp cool air, and a stillness that is like no other at this time of year. The sun rises, and Nature’s furling blanket of mist moves about, and covers the ground.
Food For Thought:
Nature, and the state of consciousness behind it….
The morning is here, and with it, the stillness of the day. The sun begins to rise and come over the crest of the hill. So quiet, so beautiful. So still. The animals of the forest begin to stir, and start their day of preparing for the next season that will be upon us soon; Winter. Today is a good day to begin to venture forth into Mother Nature’s house more often, and take to the time to quiet the mind, and enjoy the stillness that she provides us.
Here now is a brief (please accept apology for commercial promotion) talk about Nature and stillness that can be found there By Eckhart Tolle:
Nature breathes and smiles.
The furling mist creates the movement,
Quiet life, sails on.
This is the path. Or a path; or no path at all. For our natural state of being is always already here, just waiting to be uncovered, waiting for the veil to be lifted.
Breathe
Notice the thoughts as they arise and fall away
Notice the sounds as they arise and fall away
Notice the awareness within which thoughts and sounds arise and fall away
Abide in and as this awareness, this stillness of being,
This ocean of peace
May those celebrating the High Holidays at this time of year find happiness, and atonement in the New Year.
