AL-Sen: Votes are only slowly trickling in, with roughly 16 percent of precincts reporting. Roy Moore leads Luther Strange 58-42 statewide, with Strange ahead in Jefferson County and Mobile County, but losing almost everywhere else. Voter-rich Montgomery County has 39 of its 99 precincts reporting, and Moore leads 53-47 there, which is an improvement over his 35-32 lead in last month’s first round in the county.
Limestone County in northern Alabama is one of the few that has entirely reported its results, and it just so happens to be one of two counties where Rep. Mo Brooks took first place in last month’s initial round; Brooks earned just 20 percent and third place statewide. Moore leads Strange by 59-41 in Limestone, likely meaning he won the the lion’s share of Brooks’ voters after the county voted 42 percent for Brooks, 31 for Moore, and 26 for Strange in August.
