Charisma. Some kitties have it and some don’t. Ari absolutely has it in spades, and he’s mastered the art of making friends with kitties of all different personalities.
Here are some of the important lessons he’s learned.
But first, the rules…
You know how this works, but as always, a gentle reminder:
- Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Goggies are dogs, too, and moggies are cats. Birds...are birds! Peeps are people. PWB Peeps are Pooties, Woozle, Birds People. Neat, huh.
- No trolling the diary.
- If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
- Share any and all pootie/woozle photos or issues that you would like .
- If you have health/behavior issues with your pootie or woozle, feel free to bring it to the community. We just may have someone whose experience can help.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- There are some pics we never post: snakes, spiders, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- There is no such thing as stealing a photo around here, but if you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- It should not need to be said, but ANY/ALL photos that imply or encourage human violence against an animal will be considered verboten! Whether it is “comedic” or not.

Making Friends
One-on-one interaction is the best way to get to know someone. Large groups can be intimidating, even if you already know some of kitties.
When trying to make friends, timing is everything.
When you do find a better time to get acquainted, remember to make eye contact… but not too much eye contact.
Sometimes building friendships can take time. Muffers doesn’t get along with anyone but Hoovie, and she did not take to Ari right away.
Every cat is different. What works to make friends with a young kitty like Prince...
… probably wouldn’t work with Ruby, the matriarch of the clowder.
Always give your friends the space they need. Sometimes they would rather be left alone. With Sammie, that’s most of the time!
Ari has befriended all the pooties here and has moved on to other animals.
Does he have enough charisma to charm a squirrel out of a tree?
Well, maybe he just needs to be patient and persistent. After all, that worked with Muffers!
