Bill O’Reilly has just made this statement justifying the Las Vegas gun massacre:
This is the price of freedom. Violent nuts are allowed to roam free until they do damage, no matter how threatening they are.

I could go point-by-point and demonstrate why O’Reilly in his article is full of shit. Instead, I simply want to say that his sick claim is further evidence that we need to politically isolate and defeat the NRA gun fanatics.
Who out there believes, like O’Reilly and the NRA, that we have no choice but to live in a society where unbelievably vicious, horrendous, bloody gun massacres are not only normal, but necessary?
How is this different than any other terrorist ideology?
O’Reilly’s claim amounts to this:
I don’t like that people have to be massacred, but my beliefs convince me that the violent murder of countless innocent people is needed in service of a higher cause.
But hundreds of innocent people being shot down in cold blood is not the “price of freedom”.
No, hundreds of innocent people being shot down in cold blood is the price of allowing an out of control NRA to lead a bunch of rightwing gun cultists, conservative media pundits, and Republican enablers to the point where mass murder is defended as an essential element of “freedom”.
Freedom lies elsewhere, and the NRA, O’Reilly, and their supporters clearly are incapable of understanding of what freedom consists.
For the cause of freedom, humanity, peace, and all that is decent, their extremist campaign must be isolated and stopped.
