If progressives abandon the Democratic party, the Dems will not win in 2018 or 2020. If Dems abandon the progressives, they will not win in 2018 or 2020 (see: Bernie not getting the nominatrion in 2016) . So to get ANY of the ideas progressives and Dems share into REALITY, we need each other. So, Donna, STFU.
There’s always much talk on the Left of abandoning the Democratic party and having a third party. That’s a formula to fuck up the Dems, yes, but not to have any governmental power as progressives (see,. 2000; 2016) It seems the Left is really good at winning the moral argument and ending up with zero actual power. Meaning, zero Supreme Court picks, etc.
I’m sorry if the Democratic Party tilted the scale away from Bernie. But her margin of something like 4 million wasn’t just because the party didn’t like him.
For us ALL to ever win again, we need unity between Dems and progressives, which means we need to meet in the middle. If not, we’ll have more Gorsuch’s and more Citizens United’s, in which GOP-appointed justices voted yes, Dem-appointed justices votes no, and the GOP won. (Note: there were no Jill Stein appointed justices.
Donna. You’re not helping.
