I am Jewish, which has no clear cut view of death and the afterlife.
Depending on one’s belief the theory of the afterlife differs. Unlike other religions Judaism focuses in on the good deeds we do in our lives not because of a promised reward for an afterlife but because doing such deeds is the right thing to do.
I’ve been doing some research on the topic and found a quote that resonated with me and I thought that I would share it.
I would never ask those of other religions or those who are atheists or agnostic to share my view. To do so would be silly and I am not even close to being knowledgeable enough on such a heavy topic on who is right or who is wrong.
My intent is to share the following quote and learn from others what quotes they can share relating to death and perhaps the afterlife but just in the area as a whole.
“We die so that the world may continue to live. We have been given the miracle of life because trillions upon trillions of living things have prepared the way for us and then have died—in a sense, for us. We die, in turn, so that others may live. The tragedy of a single individual becomes, in the balance of natural things, the triumph of ongoing life.”
