That simple thing, a government by the people for the people, it’s huge.
There would be no more 100% partisan support or opposition to virtually anything. As much as we feel that there is this GOP support for what they do, it is fractional, 30% at best in many cases. People (republicans) are objecting to healthcare policies, those heated republican townhalls are filled with heated up republicans that object to their policies. Healthcare as the GOP sees it does not have a majority of support, it has at best a percentage of a minority.
It is not too much to ask that politicians be forced to reflect and represent the will of the people that put them in office. It might be too much to expect ignorant and clueless people to vote against their tribal affiliations, but it is not too much to expect that when these people know wrong when they see it and are voicing those objections that there is a mandate to support their will.
Senators and representatives keep records of calls on issues, yet there is no attempt to hold them accountable for the demands of their voters.
The dialog is not being brought into play that needs to, reflect the will of the people who put you in office on individual topics.
