Wow… I am almost 50 and I have lived thru a lot of historical events.
I remember where I was when Anwar Sadat was assassinated, when Ronald Reagan got shot, and of course 9-11. But I guess the one memory that stands out to me the most was the January of 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion.
When I was a kid I was going to doctor’s offices often… maybe I should have taken it as an omen, and I used to stay home from school for being sick more so than others.
The day of the explosion was one such day. I was home sick watching the live coverage of the shuttle blast-off and then the continuous news coverage all day repeating the explosion.
I still use/recall the expression “Go with throttle up” as if it was yesterday.
So… what historical event stands out the most to you, that you have lived thru?
