Looks like the corporate media has been caught reporting the Senate Republicans’ lies about they’re revised-yet-again Graham-Cassidy Trumpcare bill to kick tens of millions of Americans off of their health insurance:
Here’s the truth about the revised-yet-again-on-a-Sunday-night Trumpcare bill:
I’m not the biggest fan of the Center for American Progress think tank by anyone’s imagination, but Topher Spiro, who is their vice president for health policy, has done great work to inform Democrats, progressives, and other defenders of health care about the truth about various Trumpcare proposals since Trump became president.
The truth of the matter is that the latest version of Graham-Cassidy Trumpcare would actually result in a loss of federal funding for many of the states with key Republican senators, such as Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Rand Paul (R-KY), in deciding whether or not Graham-Cassidy passes out of the Senate before the end of this month (the entire Senate Democratic Caucus, with 48 members, is strongly opposed to Trumpcare; if at least three Senate Republicans vote against Graham-Cassidy, the bill would fail in the Senate). Despite this, the GOP is trying to tell their own members that their states would gain funding from Graham-Cassidy, which is not true for many states.
Keep calling your Senators, especially if you live in a state with a Republican senator who can still be persuaded to vote against Trumpcare, and tell them to vote against Trumpcare!
